What we practiced this week- December 12th
Piano/Keyboard 3:00
Today we:
- Sang a C major scale in Solfege
- Learned playing our new scale with the finger pattern: 123, 12345… some of us learned the left hand as well!
- Practiced “Musette” from our books
- Ended class by playing our song and scale all together at the big piano!
String Ensemble 3:30
Today we:
- Learned a warm up drill to help us remember our string names and get connected to their sound and intonation
- Yellow books rehearsed : “Up on the House Top”
- Brown book rehearsed: “Couch Potato” and “Dad’s Tune”
What we practiced this week- December 5th
Piano/Keyboard 3:00
Today we:
- Played Simon Says! We remembered our rhymes and note values
- Clapped and sang different passages the teacher gave
- Practiced and played Musette – everyone played it together at the big piano at the end of class !
String Ensemble 3:30
Today we:
- Practiced and played “Jingle Bells”
- Ukulele learned a few new, more advanced chords: A major
What we practiced this week- November 28th
Piano/Keyboard 3:00
Today we:
- Refreshed on some the things we’ve learned so far
- Practiced our right notes, quarter notes and half notes
- Practiced and learned “Musette” – performed it individually and then all together at the big piano
- Some of us started learning our left hand with different exercises in the book
String Ensemble 3:30
Today we:
- Refreshed on techniques and rhythms
- Yellow books worked on Ode to Joy
- Uke refreshed on D major, G and A chords
- Brown book went through different songs in the first pages of the book- tried some exercises we had skipped previously such as “Playing catch”
What we practiced this week- November 7th
Piano/Keyboard 3:00
Today we:
- Played some games to find several notes on our keyboards- Identified our C, D E, F, G and A notes
- Sang and practiced different note values: quarter notes, half notes and eighth notes
- Played through “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” altogether
- Learned and practiced “Musette” from our books
String Ensemble 3:30
Today we:
- Brown book student: Reviewed playing position and practiced “Bumper Cars”
- Yellow book students warmed up with “This Little Light of Mine”
- Started learning our G string!
- Ukulele went over D, G and A chords
- Concluded class with everyone playing together- Ode to Joy!

Today we:
* Practiced playing quarter notes and eighth notes
* Sang solfège exercises
* Played ‘Twinkle Twinkle’ from our piano books all together
* Started learning and practicing “Musette” from our books

Piano/Keyboard 3:00
Today we worked on the following:
* Went over ‘Mary Had A Little Lamb’ from our brown books on our own and then did it all together at the big piano
* Identified our A note and played it with our fifth finger
* Started learning and practicing ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ from our piano books
String Ensemble 3:30
Today we worked on the following:
* Yellow book students played through ‘Musette’ as warm up
* Yellow book students then went in to “Jingle Bells”
* Ukulele- practice your new Chords
* Ukulele- practice your new Chords
* Brown books got familiar with the instrument and played/ identified open D string and open A string
* Brown books played through “A Funny Pair” and “Apple for the teacher”
What we practiced this week- October 10th
Piano/Keyboard 3:00
Today we worked on the following:
- 5 fingers of piano!- Thumb = 1 and Pinky = 5
- Thumb always plays C
- C-D-E-F-G or 1-2-3-4-5 in the Right Hand
- Mary Had a Little Lamb by ear (3-2-1-2-3-3-3)
