– Assembled and tuned instruments
– Worked on single notes A, B, and C
– Played our new chord game to review our chords

Ukulele 4:00

Today we:
-reviewed all chords
-practiced the G major chord
-played along to Yellow Submarine 
-played red light green light at the end, you’re too good at this game!!
 

Beginning Winds 4:30

Today we:
-Discussed proper breathing and breath support from the Diaphragm!
-Worked on getting a great sound from our instruments
-Flutes reviewed the notes D-Eb- and C
Trumpets reviewed the notes- C-D-E-F-G
-Practice all of your notes to get better at making them sound correct!
-Try to play with the videos below.

Beginning Piano 2:40

Today we:
-Reviewed our hand position: 1-2-3-4-5 on C-D-E-F-G
-Learned the first half of Mary Had a Little Lamb
 
*Some of us were quite disruptive today. Running around the auditorium, calling out, banging on the large piano, and not following directions. We hope to have a productive orchestra class every week!

Today we:
-Reviewed Open Strings,
-Reviewed bow holds
-Discussed our Bow Wrists and how to warm up by bouncing back and forth between the Frog and Tip of the bow on the strings.
-played Mary had a Little Lamb together
-then we divided into 3 groups of 2 and each group only played one note (either D, E, or F#).
-Great job today!
 

Beginning Piano 3:55

Today we:
-reviewed our right hand position: 1-2-3-4-5 / C-D-E-F-G
-played twinkle twinkle together as a piano orchestra
-try downloading a Metronome app or searching Google for a Metronome and play along with it!
-kept a steady beat with a conductor
-had a little fun adding our left hand to twinkle twinkle by playing a C in the left hand every time our right hand plays a note from the song!
-Everyone was able to play with two hands, AMAZING JOB TODAY!

Today we:
-practiced the D major scale
-worked more on the Twinkle Twinkle melody and tried to line everything up together.
-try to play the D major scale without looking at your fingers on the finger board. If you close your eyes, you can HEAR if you are playing the correct note 🙂
-Great job today, keep up the great work!

– Tuned instruments and warmed up on yellow submarine
– Worked on single notes A, B, C pg 15-17
– Played Eleanor Rigby pg. 11
– Please review all chords we’ve done C, F, G, Am, C7

– Played through pages 5-6 in our blue book
– Worked on clapping in music and staying in time

– pillow bow holds: make sure there is enough space between your fingers while holding the bow
– we took a video of the song but I had to sing for some of it to get them together, but I’ll send it!
– practiced Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on the D string with the duet

     – we talked about what firm means (no noodle fingers on the piano and no claws, but firm fingers)
– tried to learn Hot Cross Buns

– C for cello and V for violin songs to learn left hand
– learned E (1 finger on D string) and F# (2 fingers on D String)

– firming up my fingers: talked about playing on the tips of our fingers. Playing the piano is like bounding a basketball, your fingers can’t be too stiff or too loose, but firm enough to bounce on the keys
– cabbage song and Lettuce song – we tried the duet today! Next week we will do it again
– learned Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and talked about different ways to play it with different fingers
