Practice the following music this week November 15th
Violins 2:20
- Remember how to hold the violin:
- LH holds the body
- RH plucks strings
- Make an “L” shape, then thumb goes under the black part
- Violin points slightly to your left
- Remember the string names: E A D G (Eat Apples, Do Good)
- Remember how to hold the bow:
- RH loosey-goosey, then pinky rests on top of the bow
- Index finger stretched forward a little bit, Thumb between Index and Middle finger
- Practice #4. Getting Tricky & #7. Skateboard Sam on pages 2 & 3 in the book

- Curl your bottom lip over your teeth
- Try and remember how to play the E and F notes
Flutes:
- Practice the D note
- Place the hole of the mouthpiece ‘under’ your mouth, but blow slightly across instead of into the hole
Winds 4:05
Clarinets:
- Remember the mouthpiece faces downwards
- Curl your bottom lip over your teeth
- Squeeze your mouth a little, say “ta” as in “taco”
- Practice Song #6 in the handout
Trumpets:
- Practice the C, D, E, F, and G notes
- Play them long and without changing the note

Trumpets:
- Practice buzzing (blowing a raspberry) with very tight lips, and very loose lips
- Try and remember how to pay the D, E, F, and G notes
- Try playing high, middle, and low notes only on mouthpiece, then with whole trumpet
