What we practiced this week- November 30th
Piano/Keyboard 3:00
- Please practice Going Home on page 9.
- Play through several times slowly!
Strings 3:30
- Please practice song 25 on page 9.
- Remember to be strong on the finger tapes and gentle with the bow!
Ukulele 4:00
- Please keep practicing the B-flat chord and work in This Land is Your Land in page 23!
Winds 4:30
- Please practice song 5 in your book. Remember, a tighter embouchure means you can use less air!
What we practiced this week- November 15th
Piano/Keyboard 3:00
- Please work on Going Home on page 9.
- Take it slow, and make sure your thumb stays in C!
Strings 3:30
- Please practice song 23 in page 8.
- This is a tricky one, make sure left hand fingers are firm, and right hand bow is gentle!
Ukulele 4:00
- Keep working on Aint Too Proud to Beg and work on your new B flat chord.
- We’ll have a B flat contest next class!
Winds 4:30
- Get really comfortable switching between your first two notes and getting a good tone, especially on higher pitches.
- Work on song 4!

- Please practice songs 10-12 on pages 7 and 8!
- Remember, find C by finding a hill and moving to the left.
Strings 3:30
- Please practice songs 13-15 on page 5, first plucking and then with the bow!
- Practice getting your most beautiful bow sound.
Ukulele 4:00
- Please practice the G chord and play through Three Little Birds!
Winds 4:30
- Please keep working on our first 5 notes, and practice songs 3-5 in your book.

- Please use curved piano fingers

- Please practice songs 13-15 on page 5, first plucking and then with the bow!
- Practice getting your most beautiful bow sound.

- Please work on your G chord, using tall knuckles and finger tips to get your best sound.

- Good job learning your first two notes!
- Please work on song number 3, and practice holding long notes with good sound.
What we practiced this week- October 11th
Piano/Keyboard 3:00
- Please work on songs 5-7 on page 5!
- Make sure you know how to find C by sliding off the hill (two black keys) to the left.
Winds 3:30
- Work on our first three notes, C D and E!
- Practice Mary Had a Little Lamb at home using these notes!
Ukulele 4:00
- Keep working on your C, C7, F and A minor chords.
- Practice Yellow Submarine in the book, and work on switching comfortably between F and C chords.
Strings 4:30
- Practice using the bow this week. Make your quiet coyote first, wiggle the nose, nibble the bow and flop the ears down.
- Perch pinky for violins only! Try playing each open string 4 times a day with the bow.

- Violins, make sure your play position is comfortable and that you’re holding your instrument up when you pluck.
