St. Matthew’s Parish

2023 Spring Semester

Orchestra Program Details

Grades: K-8

Course Description:

Welcome to Orchestra – Violin Ensemble!

All levels welcome and no experience required!

Students will be grouped in violin classes of similar ages and skill level. This program is designed to keep music FUN, so students should expect to play many familiar songs throughout the 14 week program, in addition to learning the fundamentals of rhythm, harmony and traditional note reading.

Smaller group violin classes will come together as one larger ensemble in the spring, culminating in a final year-end concert!

Instruments

  • Kindergarteners through 8th graders may choose the violin only. (We plan to expand to more instrument options this fall!)

Schedule

Instruction begins on Friday, February 17th, 2023 and runs through the spring, culminating in a violin recital on Friday, June 2nd, 2023.

Thirty to forty minute small group lessons will be held each Friday after school between 3:15 PM and 4:30 PM. Please keep that time block free on Fridays. This flexibility in scheduling will allow us to create classes best suited for the enrollment.

The final schedule and location of classes will be announced via email after enrollment is complete. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. To aid in your planning, note that younger, beginning classes will be held earlier than intermediate and advanced level classes.

Once the schedule is available, please have your child’s schedule clear for their assigned 30-40 minute time block. Students scheduled in later classes should contact the school regarding available campus supervision for students waiting to take their lesson.

Program costs

A program fee of $425 is requested from each participant to cover the entire 14+ week semester program spanning February 17th, 2023 through June 2nd, 2023.

  • one payment of $425 – due with registration
