Saint Brendan School

2022-2023 School Year

Music Program Details

Grades: K-8

Course Description:

Welcome Back to After-School Music!

All levels welcome and no experience required!

Students will be grouped in classes of similar instruments and ages, where they will learn how to play their desired instrument. This program is designed to keep music FUN, so students should expect to play many familiar songs throughout the program, in addition to learning the fundamentals of rhythm, harmony and traditional note reading.

Smaller group classes will come together as one larger ensemble in the spring, culminating in a final year-end concert!

Instruments

  • Kindergarteners and 1st graders may choose the String Ensemble (violin) or Piano/Keyboard
  • 2nd and 3rd graders may choose the String Ensemble (violin or cello), Piano/Keyboard, Ukulele, or Band Ensemble (Flute, Clarinet, or Trumpet)
  • 4th through 8th graders may choose the String Ensemble (violin or cello), Piano/Keyboard, Ukulele, or Band Ensemble (Flute, Clarinet, Alto Sax, or Trumpet)

Schedule

Instruction begins on Mondays in September and classes are offered through the end of May 2023, culminating in a school concert.

Small group classes are offered in both Session One (September-January) and Session Two (February-June). Enrolling in both sessions ensures that your class will advance in session two.

Students waiting to take a later lesson may attend after school care without charge while waiting for their lesson, but must be picked up at the end of their lesson time in order to avoid fees for the time they attend after the conclusion of their class.  If you are already enrolled in after school care your child can attend before and after their music class.

A program fee is requested from each participant to cover the entire 25+ week school year spanning September, 2022 through May, 2023.
