2024 Spring Semester
Orchestra Program Details
Welcome to Orchestra!
All levels are welcome and prior experience is not required!
Are you looking for a fun and engaging way to introduce your child to the world of music? Look no further than our Orchestra program!
No matter your child’s experience level, our program welcomes all students who are interested in learning how to play woodwind, brass, or string instrument. With our small group classes tailored to students’ ages and abilities, they’ll receive personalized attention and instruction from our talented and experienced teachers.
Throughout the 2024 Spring Semester Program, your child will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of rhythm, harmony, and traditional note reading, all while playing familiar songs that they love. Smaller groups will come together to form a larger ensemble, culminating in an unforgettable spring concert.
Not only will your child learn valuable skills and techniques that will serve them well throughout their lives, they’ll also have a blast doing it! So why wait? Sign up your child for our Orchestra program today and watch as they discover the joy of music.
- Third graders may choose the violin, flute, clarinet, or trumpet.
- Fourth and Fifth graders may choose the violin, flute, clarinet, alto sax, or trumpet.
Instruction begins on Wednesday, February 14th, 2024, and runs through the entire spring semester, culminating in a year-end Concert on Wednesday, June 5th, 2024.
Thirty-minute small group lessons will be held once per week after school on Wednesdays between 2:40 PM and 4:40 PM. Please keep that time block free on Wednesday. This flexibility in scheduling will allow us to create classes best suited for the enrollment.
Once the schedule is available, please have your child’s schedule clear for their assigned 30-minute time block. Students waiting to take a later lesson may opt to go home with parents and then return to school at lesson time. Or, contact the school regarding available campus supervision for students waiting to take their lesson.
There is no program fee required to participate but space is limited. Funding for instruction is provided by generous grants and donations. Donations are gratefully appreciated and can be made out to the “Calvert Charter For Enriched Studies”.
Please register below and plan to rent your instrument prior to the first class.
Sheet music, method books and basic supplies will be given to your child throughout the year.
Each student will also have access to a customized Class Portal, where they will receive weekly class recaps, practice suggestions, sheet music downloads, helpful video tutorials, and much more!
The only other expense will be the rental or purchase of the instrument (see below).
