2021-2022 School Year
Orchestra Program Details
Students will be grouped in classes of similar instruments and will learn how to play their desired woodwind, brass, or string instrument. This program is designed to keep music fun, so students should expect to play many fun songs on their instruments, in addition to learning how to read music notation. Smaller group classes will come together as one larger ensemble in the spring, culminating with a final year-end concert!
- Kindergarteners and 1st graders may only choose the violin.
- 2nd graders may choose the violin, or ukulele.
- 3rd graders may choose the violin, cello, flute, clarinet, trumpet, pBone mini, ukulele, or guitar
- 4th and 5th graders may choose the violin, cello, flute, clarinet, alto sax, trumpet, trombone, ukulele, or guitar.
Instruction begins on Wednesday, October 2, 2021 and runs through the spring, culminating with a school concert on Wednesday, May 13, 2022 at 2:00 PM.
Thirty to forty minute small group lessons will be held each Wednesday after school between 2:45 PM and 4:45 PM. Please keep that time block free on Wednesdays. This flexibility in scheduling will allow us to create classes best suited for the enrollment.
The final schedule and location of classes will be announced via email after enrollment is complete. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. To aid in your planning, note that beginning classes will be held earlier than intermediate and advanced level classes.
Once the schedule is available, please have your child’s schedule clear for their assigned 30 – 40 minute time block. Students waiting to take a later lesson may opt to go home with parents and then return to school at lesson time. Or, contact the school regarding available campus supervision for students waiting to take their lesson.
There is no fee required to participate but spaces are limited. Funding for instruction is provided by generous grants and donations. Donations are gratefully appreciated and can be made out to the “Aspire Charter School”
Weekly music instruction, books and basic supplies given to your child throughout the year are supplied.
The following additional resources are new and available to all Orchestra Students:
- Class Portal Page- weekly homework assignments, sheet music downloads, helpful video tutorials, and much more!
- Interactive video- get extra help by submitting a video for feedback from one of our teachers!
The only additional expense will be the rental or purchase of the instrument (see below). We also offer supplemental private lessons to enrich your child’s music learning.
Private Lessons - online

Duration: Ongoing – Charged monthly as lessons are completed
Private Lesson Fee:
30-minute lessons- weekly: $160 per block
30-minute lessons- every other week: $80 per block
