2021 Spring Semester

Program Details

Our commitment to high quality and accessible music education transcends barriers such as distance learning and virtual classes. This Spring semester, we are offering weekly group ZOOM CLASSES, with additional review classes available throughout the semester and regular office hours for individual questions and tuning help. New this year is the additional option of one-on-one private lessons, scheduled with a teacher over Zoom at mutually convenient times.

Instruments

  • Kindergarteners may only choose the MUSIC EXPLORATION class.
  • 1st graders may choose the Orchestra Class (violin), Piano/Keyboard Class, Vocal Ensemble, and/or MUSIC EXPLORATION.
  • 2nd graders may choose the Orchestra Class (violin), Ukulele Class, Piano/Keyboard Class, Vocal Ensemble, and/or MUSIC EXPLORATION.
  • 3rd graders may choose the Orchestra Class (violin, cello, flute, clarinet, trumpet, or pBone Mini), Ukulele Class, Guitar Class, Piano/Keyboard Class, and/or Vocal Ensemble.
  • 4th graders through 8th graders may choose the Orchestra Class (violin, cello, flute, clarinet, alto sax, trumpet, trombone), Ukulele Class, Guitar Class, Piano/Keyboard Class, and/or Vocal Ensemble.

Schedule

Virtual instruction for all new students begins during the week of January 25th, 2021 and runs through May, culminating with a virtual video concert for students to have as a keepsake.  Classes for advancing students from first semester will begin the week of January 18th.

A primary 30-minute small-group ZOOM lesson will be held weekly for each class between 2:30 PM and 5:00 PM, depending on when regular online school ends. Additional review lessons will be available throughout the semester along with free, weekly office hours for individual questions and tuning help.

The final schedule and location of classes will be announced via email after enrollment is complete. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. To aid in your planning, note that beginning classes will be held earlier than intermediate and advanced level classes.

Once the schedule is available, please have your child’s schedule clear for their assigned 30-minute time block. Students should be in the Zoom waiting room 5 minutes before class starts.

Program costs

The program fees listed below cover all instructional costs. The only other expense will be the rental or purchase of the instrument (if required).  We will provide free method books for ALL classes, as well as free recorders for the Music Exploration class.

Please see below for our catalog of courses offered this year. We recommend enrolling in our regular ORCHESTRA CLASS or joining us for multiple new elective instrument classes. We highly recommend supplementing your group classes with a weekly private lesson for even more in-depth learning!

Orchestra Classes

Grades: 1st Grade and Up

Course Description:

This is our flagship orchestra program. Students will be grouped in classes of like instruments and will learn how to play their desired woodwind, brass, or string instrument. This program is designed to keep music fun, so students should expect to play many fun songs on their instruments, in addition to learning how music works. Smaller group classes will come together as one larger ensemble in the spring, culminating with a final year-end concert!

Beginning Strings & Winds will meet on Mondays and/or Tuesday – Exact Times TBA

Intermediate & Advanced Students (All Instruments) will meet on Wednesdays and/or Thursdays – Exact Times TBA

Tuition: A program fee of $305 for the spring semester is requested from each participant to cover the entire Spring Semester (15+ weeks of instruction through May , 2021). FREE Office Hours and make-up sessions are available on a weekly basis.

Music Exploration (Kinder – 2nd)

Course Description:

Younger students are extremely creative, ambitious, and excited to learn music. That is why this class focuses on many aspects of music. During this course, we will discover music through singing, rhythm, and learning the recorder in a variety of ways. Each student receives a FREE recorder and method book with their tuition!

Duration: Spring Semester

Tuition: $305 for the semester

Ukulele I & II (2nd Grade and Up)

Course Description:

A smaller, more versatile and agile alternative to the guitar, the Ukulele is a popular choice for students of all ages! Students will learn to play and sing along to their favorite popular songs and other traditional melodies. We will learn how to play these four strings with a Hawaiian feel.

Tuition: $305 for the semester

Piano I & II (1st Grade and Up)

Course Description:

We take this complex instrument step by step, and learn how to play music on day one!  Students can look forward to learning how to use both of their hands in tandem to play melodies, harmonies, and chords on their very own piano or keyboard.

Tuition: $305 for the semester

Guitar I & II (3rd grade and up)

Course Description:

This instrument is pervasive in modern music in its amplified “electric” form, but it has humble beginnings in classical and folk music. Students will learn how to properly finger chords and scales which will propel them into their desired guitar path. We will use steel string acoustic guitars due to their smaller neck width and easier to hold shape, but students will learn techniques that can be applied to Classical, flamenco, blues, rock, and any other style of playing guitar!

Vocal Ensemble (1st Grade and Up)

Course Description:

Singing is the easiest instrument to use because we all use our voices every day! It can also be the hardest to tame and use properly. That is why this course is all about implementing safe singing habits, while experiencing the joy of singing melodies and harmonies with a group. Students can look forward to singing a wide variety of music, and learning techniques that will help them for a lifetime.

Tuition: $305 for the semester

Supplemental Private Lessons (All Grades & All Instruments)

We HIGHLY RECOMMEND  supplementing your music classes with private lessons! Add one-on-one private lessons once a week or once every two weeks for one or multiple instruments. Private lessons are charged on a recurring monthly basis.

Duration: Ongoing – Charged monthly as lessons are completed

Private Lesson Fee:

Four 30-minute lessons per month: $160 per month

Two 30-minute lessons per month: $80 per month

Registration
